on Saturday Oct 1st, a Collection of Art by Deondra Wilkins
“Healing; (October 2022) is a collection of paintings, digital drawings, art journals, and mixed media works that draw from Deondra’s own healing journey and experience as a Black American women. Some works in this collection are autobiographical in nature and depict real-life circumstances, while others came to fruition as a result of play and her desire to see more black characters in fantasy spaces. Additionally, several works were created in celebration of Black history. Overall, the collection invites the viewer to reflect on what each piece means to them and their own journey through healing within themselves and their communities.”
Artist Talk October 2nd at 4PM by Deondra, with reception to follow.
